Delete your EYA account

Last updated: 1 August 2026

This page explains how to request deletion of your EYA (Enhance Your Ability) account and everything stored with it, and what happens to your data afterwards. EYA is developed and operated by Enhance Your Ability.

Option 1 — delete from the EYA mobile app

  1. Open the EYA app and sign in with the account you want to delete.
  2. Open Profile from the main menu.
  3. Scroll to the "Danger zone" section at the bottom of the profile screen.
  4. Tap "Delete account", then confirm in the dialog that appears.

Deletion starts immediately and cannot be undone. You are signed out on every device.

Option 2 — delete from the web app

  1. Open https://app.enhance-your-ability.com and sign in.
  2. Go to Account and settings, then Profile.
  3. Scroll to the "Danger zone" section.
  4. Click "Delete Account" and confirm.

Option 3 — ask us to delete it for you

If you cannot sign in, send an email to support@enhance-your-ability.com from the address registered on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify that you own the account and complete the deletion within 30 days — usually within 3 working days. We confirm by email once it is done.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following is erased from our systems straight away:

  • Your sign-in credentials and account record — email address, name and authentication account.
  • Your profile and app settings, including language, voice and display preferences.
  • Child profiles you created, together with their settings and progress.
  • Communication cards, categories, folders and communication boards.
  • Every file you uploaded: photos, videos, voice recordings and other audio.
  • Conversations and saved sentences (Talk topics and messages).
  • Visual supports, routines, calendar events and completion logs.
  • Saved contacts used for sharing sentences.
  • Word-prediction and suggestion data derived from your usage, including search indexes.
  • Workspace memberships — you are removed from any family or therapy-centre workspace you belong to.
  • Any active subscription is cancelled as part of the deletion, and no further payments are taken.

What is kept, and for how long

A small amount of data survives deletion, either because the law requires it or because it no longer identifies you:

  • Encrypted backups: your data may remain in routine backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which it is overwritten. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
  • Billing and transaction records — invoices, payment references, amounts and dates — are retained for 3 years to meet accounting and tax obligations. They contain no cards, recordings or therapy content.
  • Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics that can no longer be linked to you or your child are kept indefinitely.
  • Records owned by a therapy centre: if a therapist or centre keeps clinical records about a child inside their own workspace, those records belong to that organisation and are not removed by deleting your personal account. Contact the centre directly, or write to us and we will put you in touch.
  • Anything you sent to another person — for example a sentence shared to a contact — stays in the recipient's messaging app, which we cannot reach.
